IDADAIT 2024

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is a global observance that happens every June 26 of the year, mandated by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC) which was declared during the UN General Assembly in December 1987, also known as World Day against Drug Abuse and Trafficking.

This year, Journey Home Wellness Center was invited by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) of Malaybalay City to conduct a symposium for City Government Employees as part of their observance. Drug Symposiums play crucial role in educating the audience about the disease of addiction and methods of prevention.

By participating in these symposiums, we help raise awareness within the community about the dangers of drug abuse while emphasizing that there is always hope and support available for individuals struggling with addiction. These events are important in fostering a more informed and compassionate community. Knowledge gained from these talks can be used to educate, fostering a more informed and supportive community, ensuring that those struggling with addiction know they are not alone and have access to the help they need.

The DILG Malaybalay City has been actively involved in eradicating drug addiction in the city. Their ongoing Community-Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) is a testament to their commitment. Giving out drug symposiums enhances these efforts by improving the existing program and making it more effective.

Journey Home is grateful for the opportunity to participate in this years IDADAIT Symposium held at People's Hall, City Hall Malaybalay City. This event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the city mayor, Mayor Warren Pabillaran and the hardworking members of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Malaybalay. Journey Home's Program Director, Percival Batar is honored to share insights, experiences and strategies for combating drug addiction.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for your relentless pursuit of a drug-free Malaybalay City.
