Choco Crunchies

"I can still remember the height of my addiction when I would do drugs alone. One time, I didn’t have any foil to use as paraphernalia. I searched through our refrigerator and saw a box of choco crunchies. The packaging was foil, so I threw away the chocolate and used the foil for my drugs. I ended up using every piece of foil because it kept getting torn, and I finished off all the chocolate cookies just for the foil.

It's funny to share this today, but looking back at how desperate I was to satisfy my urge for drugs gives me strength and courage now to continue living clean and sober. The disease is so powerful. It was just packaging for chocolate cookies, but I turned it into paraphernalia. Today, I realize that those cookies were delicious!

Thank you for letting me share! Love you, JHome!"
